March 27 – The Tao Te Ching

“The tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao. The name that can be named is not the eternal Name.” – First lines of the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu

Do you find yourself harried or in a state of anxiety? Our minds tend to be anywhere but here. If you are in the past, you are regretting or stuck. If your mind races towards the future, you are worried and anxious. In contrast, staying in the present, in the right now and practicing awareness, makes us sensitive to the wonders of life and its ebbs and flows. In other words, in every moment, lies a gift, because consciousness is ever fresh, unique and original.

The Tao Te Ching (generally translated as the Way of Integrity, God, Universal Wisdom, or Virtue), dates back to the 4th century BC. It is an Eastern philosophical text divided into 81 chapters or verses. Composed by Lao Tzu, a master on the art of living, the Tao Te Ching is a manual for living. Taoism or Daoism influenced Confucianism, as well as Chinese Buddhism, and is still a grounding and applicable lifestyle.

The word Tao, translates as the Way. This Way is the space that welcomes everything into existence, in equal measure. Not only is quiet, calm serenity embraced, but also movement, change and impermanence. The Way is one with creation, and creation is the Way. The author answers age old questions on the meaning and handling of life, by extolling to “go with the flow”, in poetic prose. As we meditate and live by the axioms of the book, we learn eternal truths that take us inward into the wisdom of the ages. “Knowing others is wisdom; Knowing the self is enlightenment.” states the Tao Te Ching. After all, as we plunge into our silence during meditation, we exhume layer after infinite layer of understanding ourselves.

This quote and wise admonition is well taken. Perhaps not just with ordinary people relationships but also with the old guard. I believe we are entering troubled times because the old must break and fall apart before we can have a new world order. If we fortify ourselves with Love and create a barrier of Love, we will have done our best to rebuild the mess that’s left. Creating a shield of Love, sending out Love and surrounding ourselves in Love like a cloak of armor, we will overcome. The truth will set us free, but at first it will piss us off and look unlikely. We must remember to stand our ground in Love.

As I take each step, I tell worry, fear and doubt to come along. I no longer tell them to step aside, I use them instead. With each step towards my goal, no matter how minute, they can show up, but I am still doing this.

My prayer for protection:

“The Light of G surrounds me, The Love of G enfolds me, The power of G protects me, The presence of G watches over me and wherever I am, G is.” – from Unity Church

The next time I even flinch, believing I cannot do this, I need to do it anyway, No excuses.

Instead of expelling “illegal” (and truly is a human being ever illegal?) Immigrants, that denegrative term, we need to instead, get rid of the treasonous, illegitimate presidency and his greedy, traitorous, hypocritical staff of cronies.

Yes, I went there. I said it. We need reform but not backwards to a dystopian hellish version of tyranny. I have heard astrology predict this, years back. I have read psychics’ premonitions. But, bottom line, it is a choice. Do we enlighten or suffer?

I choose to enlighten and be enlightened. I am done suffering fools.

May the greed, evil, vengeance, cruelty and lies transform as they are sucked into the ground, and released back into our breath changed, into Joy, Hope, Love and Peace. Mother earth has regenerative powers that can sustain this alchemy.

I choose to connect the dots of our intrinsic nature and lifetimes of history. I choose to be a part of the evolution to goodness and respect. I choose to be the giver of comfort and beauty rather than the thief of dreams, stealing in daylight and dark.

My upcoming book will flow with the energy of the feminine power whose time has again come. The relief, the release, the renewal and the rebirth of the Goddess called Goodness will show herself. And GG (Goddess called Goodness) loves the planet, unity, harmony and abundance.

It is the fear of losing or not getting what they want that drives this group of marauders mad. Their lack is ruining everything that is held dear by believers of truth.

I hope they have a feeding frenzy first on each other, like piranhas turned onto each other. And, may the wicked recede and the hopeful rise. I hear it will get messier before it evens itself out and the dust settles.

This is the way it will be altered.

Spiritual leaders cannot be political. A sacred person is humble, selfless, generous, too honest and philanthropic to bow or cow tow to anything but the truth. 

The Goddess of Love delivers in the strangest way. Who would have thunk that a bully, a narcissistic, self aggrandizing, greedy liar would crash and burn so the asleep person would wake up with Love in their hearts and together put Love into action for the meek, the tortured, the earth, the female and the coloration of society?

I forgive the blinded ones, whom could not see-

For they gave Love a clear path, a vocation.

The error gives the people of Love and justice a voice.

Driven by an underlying spiritual quality of connectedness,

The hope is that WE unite in Love and Joy!

We need to see, say, do, think, pray and give out Love and positive energy, every minute.

Remember the sixties? Bring back the message! All we need is Love. We must offer and convey forgiveness and compassion. If we open our hearts, it is not too late.

Do not succumb to fear, longing or indifference. We need to be unafraid. We must stand up with courage.

Let us call for and encourage Love and peace.

We can combine our brains and hearts as one. We are One. And, we are the ones that can generate change.

I don’t want to hear the defeatist view of “what can one person do?” Plenty. Start somewhere.

Let it begin with me.

THINK ACTION: What can you do today to steer every relationship towards Love and forgiveness? How can you make it a safer, cleaner and gentler world? How can you use your gifts in a loving, thoughtful way? What one circumstance will you bring resolution to today by looking at it with Love and compassion? What generous responses can you have towards poverty? How do you react to prejudice? injustice? sexism? What areas of your life need more loving, peaceful consideration? How will you BE an example of kindness today?

 “a new kind of thinking as a basis for the creation of a new kind of world.” – Marianne Williamson. –  “War, quite simply, is insane. For those of us who wish to be part of the solution to war — not part of the problem — it is time to change our own minds, to accept a healing of our own warlike thoughts, in order to create a new field of possibility.”

And, in my humble opinion, we need As M. Williamson suggests, we need to be spiritual activists.  We are one. We are not separate. We help those touched by the horrors of war by not accusing or withholding forgiveness in our own minds; by eliminating violence, revenge or hostility, in our own thoughts.

Orrin Woodward, an author on leadership said, “One person with commitment accomplishes more than a thousand with an opinion.” We need to commit to a spiritual movement that has no allegiance to political or religious parties. We must aim for and protect peace. We must invest in one direction; to elevate us to the Love level.

The transformation begins with us, in each of our hearts. We are examples to our families, our neighbors and to everyone we meet.

We can enhance our connection to each other and agree upon our oneness, as our highest priority, at all times of the day. Or we WILL perish, leaving nothing to no one.

“The problems of the world will not be solved on the level of thinking we were at when we created them,” wrote Einstein.

Without naming ourselves judge and jury, labeling ourselves the victim or aggressor, we can instead do something in a nonviolent manner. We can protest inhumane treatment, murderous actions and brutal regimes by “rising above the battlefield” as Marianne Williams suggests and “reaching for a higher truth in our minds.” 

We assume we are not enough, not brave enough, not capable of shedding resentments, complaints or criticisms. But we are enough, strong enough, good, qualified and decent when Love is our common focus.

We must have ideals and hope.

We must get past our own sense of littleness.

We must heal our Earth’s soul sickness, all of us, one by one, together.  When we collaborate with other peaceful activists, we shift hearts and minds on a spiritual plane. Countless people pray and send thoughts of peace to all life-forms.

In every part of the world, twenty-four hours, everyday. meditators manifest love, believers seek mercy and ordinary people wish for a healthy planet united in harmony.

Where will we be if we are not advocates for animals, children and the meek?  How could we live with ourselves? What if everyone put their weapons away and came to their senses? What barbaric, cynical and careless answer is War?  Will we set our efforts and money into cleaning up the planet instead? How do we educate and feed people?

Marianne Williamson, author of A Return to Love, once said on the Middle East, “The road to spirituality is not a reason for apathy.” She interprets A Course in Miracles in her books and speeches. “The Course” as many call the large tome, is a provoking text that states love is truth and perceptions are illusions. Conflict is a plea for Love, “The Course” instructs. Problems do not get settled in an atmosphere of terror, panic or hostility. Peaceful solutions and answers derive from love and understanding. We are both insensitive and negligent to the plight of the downtrodden masses when we do nothing.
