theme: Friends

This week we will explore the depth and beauty of having friends and celebrate by doing a few, not many,  gentle yoga poses together with a partner.  As always, the energy and vibrations of all in the room contribute to the enhancement of out practice!!!

“Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.” – Anais Nin

Marinating while up here in the Mountains

I have been especially blessed – I can name well over 100 reasons why.

At the very top of my list is my spiritual connection – just like my 7th chakra.

And probably immediately following – all my relationships and people in my life – presently and in the past.  Even the disagreeable or unpleasant ones.

Everyone and every situation has taught me something.  Sometimes I need to put distance between us in order to find out what that gift is…but as long as I look for the benefit…eventually I can absorb, relish and be grateful for the shiny, ivory, smooth skinned pearl instead of choking on the jagged, ugly, roughly textured shell it came encased in.

Your aura

The aura is like a sheath that protects and envelops your living body.  You can enhance, support and fortify your energy field by enlisting positive thought, meditation, prayer, eating healthfully  and using affirmations.

The Earth’s magnetism moves up our physical body via the lower chakras.  The vitality of the cosmos moves down our bodies via the upper chakras.  This convergence of energy affects our mood, thoughts, feelings, and perceptions.  With self-awareness and understanding we realize and remember – we are spiritual beings having a human experience, instead of the other way around.  We respond to and bloom with –  positive intentions, uplifting scenarios and genuine souls/persons in our lives.  And we expand and heal ourselves as we acknowledge our true potential !!

chakra explanation

A chakra is a spinning vortex of activity created by the presence of consciousness within the physical body.  These vortices exist within what is called the subtle body – a hidden field of energy that carries your urges, emotions, and habits, as well as the imprints of all that has happened to you.  As vital portals between mind and body, the chakras can be thought of as chambers in the temple of the body that organize various elements of your life force as it travels through you.  Like the rooms in your home, chakras are areas in the body that take in energy from outside, process that energy internally, and express it back out again.  In this way, chakras are centers of organization for the reception, assimilation and expression of life force energy. – Anodea Judith

Chakras

The Chakras act as conductors, percolating the energy from heaven and earth.  These vortexes of moving energy stimulate various endocrine organs.  Hormones are secreted into the blood system.  This in turn affects our body and state of mind.  This filtration system purifies our energy from the physical plane into the spiritual stratum.  Our primal, animal instincts and basic human nature are refined into the highly clarified and cleansed area that connects us with the source of all life and creation.  Subtle energy and awareness ensues.

When we begin the journey through the chakras, we open the way for healing, psychological development and spiritual growth to occur.

Theme: Intro to Chakras

I am sooooo excited to share and begin this Chakra Series.  This potent yet invisible energy system is within us and can be understood, cleared, balanced and cleansed in such a way as to emotionally and physically enhance our lives.  Just practicing yoga asanas (poses) develops an intrinsic connection and awareness via opening, un-blocking and stabilizing these centers of personal power.  Each of us contain these circles of light in an electro-magnetic field whether you acknowledge it or not.  Clairvoyants and other highly sensitive people can actually sense/see/feel the chakras.  The belief in their existence is ancient and has been handed down throughout various sources and geographic locations.   New scientific research with powerful and delicate instruments have affirmed the presence of colorful vortexes situated along our spine.  It is believed that the 7 main chakras that we will be exploring, stimulating and adjusting  – can heal and affect our physical health, our emotional stability and our mental clarity.

Along with a carefully designed playlist that uses tones and sounds that are designed to resonate with our chakras, you will have the opportunity to experience the elixir (my signature goddess juice ) Chakra Balance which is comprised of over 8 different essential oils.  An introductory meditation to guide you to visualize, sense, and bring your attention to these swirling spheres will also be incorporated.

Don’t miss it!

last week’s theme

Due to a flood at my home on Sunday, I started to reflect on how I handled the situation; especially in contrast to others.  I shared these self-observations with you in class.  I am convinced that our past experiences, our temperament and our immediate emotional condition are linked to help produce either a reaction, a response or a more observant neutral state.

Some of you have requested I repeat the affirmations I needed to hear this week – possibly stirring something inside of yourselves or inspiring you in some way.

I DO THE BEST I CAN, WHATEVER ARISES

I AM AT PEACE WITH MYSELF

I LIVE ONE DAY AT A TIME, MOMENT BY MOMENT BY MOMENT, WITH EACH BREATH

Thank you and may your week be filled with brightness, wonder and joy!

Theme: July/Summer

It being the first week of July, I thought it appropriate to have it as our theme.

July brings with it thoughts of bar – b – q’s and beaches and no school.  Vacations, lazy lounging by a pool and hot, hot, heat.  Picnics, outings and kids everywhere!!!

July is also the month of creativity and harmony as flowers, fruit and vegetables start to bloom, procreate and ripen.  No better time to incorporate salads and fresh veggies/fruits into our repertoire of snacks and meals.  Peaches and stone fruits abound and peak in July.  Zinnias, roses and geraniums are all the rage in pinks, oranges, reds and yellows – the colors of the sunset.

“Summer is not so much a season as a melody, that tune of contentment we hum as the days begin to beautifully blur.” – Sarah B. Breathnach

Think honey bees and suntan lotion.

Let’s practice yoga with ease, awareness and abundance.  We will be using Garden cards and Garden Goddess Juice with a Gandalf playlist.

See you there.
