Y3 – Day 66 – Sleeping Beauty

IMG_3805ABT does it again! A wonderful performance with outrageously expensive and luxurious (miles of fabric) costumes made in New York and Italy. Even the scenery was constructed and painted in La Scala, Milan, Italy. Amazing music by our very own OC Pacific Symphony conducted by Carl St. Clair.

We are lucky to have the World Premiere of the original 1890 production of The Sleeping Beauty with music by Tchaikovsky and choreography by Marius Petipa, as seen for the first time in St. Petersburg, presented here in our own county, just minutes away.

It is grand to have the arts available right around the corner.

A personal note: We almost didn’t go. The blues are starting to hit hard after Nana’s passing. So glad we did though. It was an experience even in a somewhat reluctant mood.
