Y4 – Day 83 – Home Floral Arrangement

I am Loving the garden this spring. Here we have alstroemeria in fuchsia pink throats, ombre to light powder pink towards the tips of the petals and spotted dark brown dashes inside yellow mottled bases. Like identification cards, each flower is unique and each variety of the Peruvian lily, as it is commonly named, has markings and colors that make it a favorite item in any bouquet.

And then we have the smallish white lily with lavender and yellow stained petals that I still can’t identify ( see Y3 – Day 81 ) but grows proficiently with neglect in any shady spot I transplant it in since 1987 when I first laid eyes on it by our sidewalk at our first house.

And then I just filled in the display with a few “weeds” that were growing in a semi circle planter abutted to our rear house wall. They were star clustered fuzzy flowers and rosemary like spiked leaved stems. I had hubby clear them out today and re-fill it with three bags of organic soil. Then, I planted multiple colored petunia plugs I chose from Home Depot this morning and sowed four o’clock floral seeds he bought me last week that I had been waiting to disperse for just the right moment and place, which was this glorious, beautiful day!

Y4 – Day 31 – Another Early Valentine Gift

At the rate I am receiving Valentine presents, I cant believe there’s anything left for Sunday, the real St. Valentine’s Day.

Arriving today, I am gazing at Sterling Charm Roses. My favorites are the lavender Ocean Song roses among the equally gorgeous, bright pinky, fuchsia Gigi roses and thorny blue thistles. The bouquet is Stunning, just stunning. The petals are tightly wrapped up in a bud but with each day, they will open and I will admire them, as they stand tall and elegantly by our front door.

The scent of roses greets me right away and puts a smile on my face as I catch a glimpse of myself reflected in the entry mirror along with wild, passionate hues of the velvety petaled flowers of love.

Y4 – Day 4 – Welcome Bouquet

Welcome to 2016. A classic, glamorous and romantic bouquet arrived from the love of my life. The collection of blooms include lavender Coolwater roses, red Freedom roses, crimson alstroemeria, wispy, limonium, fragrant, fuchsia stock, and Red Alert lilies. As I write, I can smell the fragrance of this magnificent January bouquet, I placed at our entry to welcome all that enter our cozy corner.

Y3 – Day 363 – January Red Roses

My first bouquet of the New Year!

I love placing flowers in front of mirrors so you can see the reflection. Using this trick doubles the majesty, hue and delicacy of roses, especially. Here, I have placed a fairy tale mirror on the wall above the entry black desk where we keep dog leashes and paraphernalia, a variety of keys and the like, stashed away.

You can easily see the swatches of color on the stairway wall that I slathered on in patches so I could pick a color. We ended up using Maison by SW (Sherwin Williams) as depicted on the mirrored wall but not yet applied to the opposite walls. It is a warm white. You can also catch a glimpse of the new black wrought iron work, banister and pillar for the stairs.

The roses are Hot Princess from South America. They are celebrated for their extra large blooms and deep magenta color. I am loving the burst of rouge and will enjoy these every day as I pass in or out the front door and glance at myself and ask who is the fairest one of all?

Why the roses of course!
