Y3 – Day 260 – Too Faced

Oh man, do I like make-up. You may not see it on me much but when I do wear it – I go all out and I have been playing with makeup since I was very young, before I was allowed to “legally” wear it outside the home. I was allowed pastel, creamy, luminescent eye shadow to play wear (only inside the house). Lipstick, the same, pale, nude gloss. But I loved the drama and in another life maybe I would have been a make-up artist. I know whenever I got the chance, I helped backstage at the high schools I taught at with the art of masquerading using cosmetics.

DSC00592I have these in every color – imagine my surprise and giddiness to see them adult sized instead of pocket sized.

Yesterday, after the beach, we travelled to the most talked about job site at my house since Urban Decay, Too Faced. The entire interior is bubbly pink, with shiny, sparkly, heavily crystallized chandeliers and glitz and glamour, old Hollywood style a la Barbie doll. Andy Warhol looking wallpaper of Marilyn and pouty pink lip impressions on gilded foil is strategically used throughout.

I have probably almost single-handedly made these two male owners the millionaires that they are with all the Too Faced products I have loved and purchased since they began back in the late ’90’s.

Thank you Jeremy and Jerrod for the joy and empowerment of your vision.

Thank you to the love of my life for surprising me with a visit to their brand new building he helped decorate, based in Irvine.

Y3 – Day 258 – Friday Vegan Lunch/Dinner

Sometimes I just don’t get a chance to eat lunch and I have a lunch/dinner and dessert for “dinner”.

For breakfast, I ate an organic peanut butter (crunchy) and jelly (no sugar, just raspberries) sandwich made with Ezequiel’s bread which had a lot of staying power for my workout and activities throughout the day.

For lunch/dinner, I made a vegan Caeser salad. I had prepared the dressing and the topping the day before. Deliciousness without the anchovies or Parmesan cheese. I added a few fried onions (a guilty pleasure) from a store bought bag.IMG_4428

Meanwhile, I had prepped my vegan gluten free (cornmeal crust) pizza with a generous whollop of organic jarred pizza tomato sauce, vegan mozzarella shreds, cut up organic Kalamata olives and rustic, grilled artichoke hearts from a jar filled with salted water, not oil.

For dinner, I have to admit I enjoyed some bruschetta without cheese with my husband and some gnocchi in fresh marinara.

Dessert was unsweetened coconut yogurt with crushed up vegan cinnamon cookies, stevia, cinnamon extract and chopped, organic red walnuts.

I know. I can eat.

Y3 – Day 255 – The Weeds and Roses in my Life

Fate, Nature, Divine Source…whatever you want to call it, if I connect the dots, has always shown me the way and fills my heart.

I know I am more than this body vessel.

When I remember to ask for help, I receive it … and not necessarily when and how I thought it would look like either.

What I consider most important in my life is my breath, the gift of my heart, my soul, my connections, my love and life itself.

Y3 – Day 254 – Retrograde

Here is a process you might want to use during Retrograde.

Set your intentions for the next retrograde season which starts Thursday, September 17 and ends, Friday, October 9.

Advice from my friend Marla: if you make your lists and plan it right, Mercury Retrograde is a good time to clean out the garage, your office, those over-stuffed bookcases, etc. You know, wipe the slate clean and start over. Plan to do half as much as you usually do. Do not start new projects unless they are “on your list.” Do not sign contracts during this time. Do not travel. The do’s and don’ts go on and on.

Take out 3 sheets of paper. Let’s manifest. Pray for divine or universal guidance and begin:

First sheet of paper is titled: Ideals, Goals and Aspirations I want to Complete during this time.

Second sheet: Everything I have been putting off or I am in the process of that I need to complete during this time.

Third sheet: Any travel, parties or events I am attending that I already know I have planned for this time span. Any travel already scheduled is fine but expect delays or glitches.

Fill up your pages and there is no need to worry, you have your plan for the Retrogade.

Y3 – Day 252 – Bathing Cindi

It is always a pleasure to bathe our little Cindi in the kitchen sink where she behaves and seems to enjoy the scrubbing bubbles, the conditioner and the warm towel treatment afterwards. I sing her the same song I sang to all three kids when I bathed them. “This is the way we wash our hair, wash our hair, wash our hair, this is the way we wash our hair, so early in the morning.

IMG_4397 IMG_4398

This is the way we rinse ourselves, rinse ourselves, rinse ourselves, this is the way we rinse ourselves, so early in the morning. This is the way we condition ourselves, condition ourselves, condition ourselves, this is the way we condition ourselves, so early in the morning. This is the way we rinse the conditioner, rinse the conditioner, rinse the conditioner, this is the way we rinse the conditioner, so early in the morning.

This is the way we dry ourselves, dry ourselves, dry ourselves, this is the way we dry ourselves, so early in the morning.
